It is that time of the year once again when Dubai goes beyond every Shopaholics’ imagination and becomes the most iconic shopping destination in the world. Now on its 24^th edition, the Dubai Shopping Festival or DSF starts from the 26^th of December. And, before it has even begun, it was recently announced that its initial closing date of 26^th January has already been moved and extended until the 2^nd of February 2019.

This year, DSF promises to be bigger, better and more exciting than ever before, with a promising array of sales, entertainment, fireworks and much more! So if you are tempted to grab those shopping bags and race to find some sweet, sweet deals, here’s a little sneak peek into what to expect at this year’s Dubai Shopping Festival.

Sales Galore

Bargain hunters will have a gala time trawling the malls and hopping from one shop to another as shops and brands compete to outdo one another with unbeatable discounts and offers. To make things even more exciting, many participating malls and stores will also have flash sales and promotions to entice the shopaholics in town.

On 26^th December 2018, the very first day of DSF, all of the Majid Al Futtaim managed malls in the city (City Centre malls and Mall of the Emirates) will have a special 12-hour sale where 700 international brands from across 3,200 outlets will offer whopping discounts of up to 90%! Other malls will also be offering special weekend deals and events to amp up the excitement.

Raffles and Prizes

DSF is not just about finding that perfect shoe on sale or bagging the latest gadget at a crazy discount. One of the things that people look forward to the most is the raffle draws and prizes waiting to be won. If you want to test your luck, enter a draw to win an Infiniti QX50 or get a ticket for the mega cash prize of AED 500, 000! Apart from these main attractions there are several other prizes to be won all throughout the 5-week shopping extravaganza.

Bring on the sparkle

Over the decades, the fireworks for DSF have become as exciting as the sales and deals on offer. Watching the spectacle of fireworks lighting up the Dubai sky in some of the most popular locations is definitely a treat. This edition promises to have some awe-inspiring displays at outdoor hotspots in Dubai including Al Seef, Global Village, The Beach at JBR, Dubai Creek and more!

Quirky outdoor markets

Taking advantage of the gorgeous weather in the city during December, DSF has been organizing a ‘Market Outside the Box’ event at the Burj Park in Downtown Dubai. This event transforms the laidback park into a buzzing hotspot, with music, food and of course, shopping! The park will be dotted with a host of food trucks and homegrown boutique stores full of kitschy fashion, art and more. Local bands and artists are all set to entertain shoppers with live music.
